Data protection

Privacy statement

Thank you for your interest in our company. Protecting your privacy is very important to us. Below is a detailed explanation of how we handle your data.

Storage of access data in server log files

You may visit our website without providing personal information. We only save access data in server log files, e.g. the name of the file requested, the date and time of request, the quantity of data transferred and the provider requesting it. This data is evaluated solely for purposes of ensuring disruption-free operation of the site and improving our offerings. It does not allow us to make any inferences about you as a person.

Data collection and usage for purposes of contract execution and opening a customer account

We collect personal data when you voluntarily provide us with information when placing an order, when you contact us (using the contact form or by e-mail) or when you create a customer account. The input form templates show which data is collected. We use the data you provide to implement the contract and process your requests. Once the contract has been executed in full or your account has been deleted, your data will be ring-fenced off from further use and deleted once the tax and commercial retention periods have expired, insofar as you have not provided your express consent to the continued use of your data or we reserve the right to use the data beyond this as permitted by law and about which we will inform you. You may delete your account at any time, either by sending a message using the contact options detailed below or by using the function provided in your account for this purpose.

Data transmission for purposes of contract fulfilment

For purposes of contract fulfilment, we forward your data to the delivery company tasked with the delivery, insofar as this is required for the delivery of the goods ordered. Depending on the payment service provider you select during the order process, we will forward the payment data collected to the credit institution commissioned with the payment and, if applicable, the payment service provider commissioned by us or the payment service provider selected for payment processing. Some of the payment service providers selected also collect this data if you hold an account with them. In this case, you must log in to the payment service provider with your access data during the order process. In this case, the respective payment service provider’s privacy statement applies.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use the data required for this or data that you send us separately to send you our e-mail newsletter on a regular basis in accordance with your consent. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, either by sending a message using the contact options detailed below or by using the link provided in the newsletter for this purpose.

Use of social plugins from Facebook and Google, using the Shariff solution

We use social plugins from social networks on our website. To increase the protection of your data when you visit our website, the plugins are not unrestricted, but are only integrated into the webpage via the use of an HTML link (known as the ‘Shariff solution’, an open-source privacy solution maintained by German computer magazine  c‘t ). This integration ensures that, when you visit a page on our website that contains these types of plugins, no connection will be created with the servers of the provider of the respective social network. Click on one of the buttons and a new browser window will open and call up the site of the service provider in question – where, after entering your login details if applicable, you can confirm the ‘like’ or ‘share’ button. Please check the provider’s data protection notice for details on the purpose and scope of the data collection and further processing and use of the data by the provider on their webpages, as well as your rights and configuration options for protecting your privacy in respect of this.
